Dustin Ouellette

 Mr. Ouellette was born and raised in South Texas before moving with his family to the hill country in the San Antonio area. He graduated from Texas State University before moving to Austin to work in politics. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Ouellette joined the Austin office of U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison working in key policy areas that involved working alongside Texas state agencies and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on policy development and constituent matters. He attend law school at South Texas College of Law before spending a year back in the San Antonio area working in the areas of commercial real estate and commercial litigation before joining on for almost 8 years as in-house counsel at a specialty tax consulting firm located in Houston. Mr. Ouellette during that time focused on corporate and small business tax law, construction law, internal compliance, assisting in developing audit response strategies for clients, drafting proposed changes to the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations for Title 26, and managing a legal team dedicated to working with clients seeking tax incentives for the energy efficient commercial buildings deduction, the IC-DISC tax incentive, and research and development tax credit. Mr. Ouellette moved back home to the San Antonio area and joined the firm in 2020.

Mr. Ouellette concentrates his practice primarily in the area of banking and finance, commercial real estate, corporate and small business tax, and corporate and general business law. Mr. Ouellette devotes much time to general business drafting, formation, real estate development, corporate and small business tax matters, business/commercial litigation, and the negotiation and drafting of commercial leases and land use restrictions.

In the commercial law area, Mr. Ouellette’s experience includes initial incorporations, shareholders’ agreements, partnership and joint venture agreements, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, corporate planning and formation, tax analysis, and compliance with Uniform Commercial Code requirements. He is experienced in the negotiation of business related disputes including the enforcement of mechanics’ and materialmens’ liens, landlord/tenant matters, creditors’ rights and a variety of contractual and real estate disputes.
